Corrie Ten Boom, who suffered through the terrible atrocities of the German concentration camps in WWII, had these sobering words to say about the tribulation– “I have been in countries where the saints are already suffering terrible persecution. In China the Christians were told: ‘Don’t worry, before the tribulation comes, you will be translated, raptured.’ Then came a terrible persecution. Millions of Christians were tortured to death. Later I heard a bishop from China say, sadly: ‘We have failed. We should have made the people strong for persecution rather than telling them Jesus would come first.’ Turning to me, he said: ‘Tell the people how to be strong in times of persecution, how to stand when the tribulation comes – to stand and not faint.’ I feel I have a divine mandate to go and tell the people of this world that it is possible to be strong in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are in training for the tribulation. Since I have gone already through prison for Jesus’ sake, and since I met that bishop from China, now every time I read a good Bible text I think: ‘Hey, I can use that in the time of tribulation’ Then I write it down and learn it by heart.

DEATH IN HIS GRAVE

Though the Earth Cried out for blood
Satisfied her hunger was
Her billows calmed on raging seas
for the souls on men she craved

Sun and moon from balcony
Turned their head in disbelief
Their precious Love would taste the sting
disfigured and disdained

On Friday a thief
On Sunday a King
Laid down in grief
But awoke with keys
Of Hell on that day
The first born of the slain
The Man Jesus Christ
Laid death in his grave

So three days in darkness slept
The Morning Sun of righteousness
But rose to shame the throes of death
And over turn his rule

Now daughters and the sons of men
Would pay not their dues again
The debt of blood they owed was rent
When the day rolled a new

On Friday a thief
On Sunday a King
Laid down in grief
But awoke holding keys
To Hell on that day
The first born of the slain
The Man Jesus Christ
Laid death in his grave

On Friday a thief
On Sunday a King
Laid down in grief
But awoke with keys
Of Hell on that day
The first born of the slain
The Man Jesus Christ
Laid death in his grave

He has cheated
Hell and seated
Us above the fall
In desperate places
He paid our wages
One time once and for all

Isn’t he lucky!?

(a conversation that has occurred multiple times)
Girl: was that your girlfriend that was just here?
Dustin: yes (with a smile)
Girl: you’re lucky

thanks ladies for reminding my man of just how blessed he is (mwahahahaha)

MESS-engers

Oftentimes I get so caught up in the condition of my heart that I begin to doubt the calling the Lord has upon my life. The prophetic words I’ve heard seem too wonderful and amazing. I begin to feel like at the rate I’m going, I’m never going to arrive at this unattainable place called “God’s purpose.”

Today in class, a classmate shared a word he felt the Lord had placed upon his heart. He shared that the reason why we feel like a mess is because we’re “mess-engers.” We are ones who need to know the true state of our heart in order to receive the true fullness of God.  His word does not indicate that it’s alright to not go to the Lord with our weaknesses and simply remain in our broken state, but rather that it’s a natural process of becoming a end times messenger.

So if you find yourself feeling unqualified to be a messenger of Jesus’ Second Coming, you’re right, you’re not qualified based on your own works. It is only by the blood that we are qualified and righteous before the Lord. Let us approach our Father in Heaven today with confidence that He exposes these weak areas in our hearts in order to glorify Himself, which is to bring healing to these places. Brokenness that no man can touch or heal.

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,  -Romans 6:5-8
