My biggest win from being a part of SBV is becoming comfortable with Chinese again. Conversing in Chinese is like very rare for me as I am always self conscious. I was afraid of being wrong especially in front of my son. But I have learnt to change my mindset in this. I am happy that I am showing my son that we can learn Chinese together. Through conversing in Chinese with my son, I slowly am getting comfortable in speaking in Chinese again. :)

Hi, I’m Sunny. I built the village I wished I had.

When I started raising my kids bilingual in rural Minnesota, I didn’t have Mandarin-speaking friends or other parents who understood nearby.

So I searched, compared, and worried by myself.

For many of us, raising Mandarin bilinguals is village-sized work without a village.

So I created Sunshine Bilingual Village: a place where parents can get a clear path, research based coaching, and parents who get it.

Still Have Questions?

What age group is SBV suitable for?

For parents with kids baby to early elementary.

What if I can't make the live events?

Replays are included, and you can submit your questions before live events. You can also work through the course and join community discussions at your own pace. We have members from all around the world who access the resources when it works best for them.

Can I join next month?

No, once doors close, you’ll need to wait until our next enrollment to join. We only open SBV a few times a year so we can focus on supporting the families already in our community.

Our next enrollment will be sometime in 2027, but we haven’t set a date yet!

How much support is inside SBV?

Inside SBV, you’ll have access to monthly live coaching sessions with me where you get to ask your questions and get practical guidance for your family’s specific challenges. Best of all, inside our private community, you’ll have a supportive group of parents to share the journey with, so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Can I learn at my own pace or is there a time limit to the resources?

Yes, the membership is set up so you can go at your own pace and choose lessons that are most relevant to your child’s language development and needs.

Can my spouse join as well?

Yes, but there will only be one log-in for membership portal. Both parents are welcome to join the private WhatsApp community for support.
